About me

Who am I?

Hello there, my name is Sander De Vos. I am born and raised in a picturesque rural town called Sint-Pieters-Leeuw, which is located in the garden of Brussels, Belgium.

I graduated as Bachelor in ICT in 2008 and began work as a Java Software Engineer for a large system integrator in Belgium. My daily job consists of development of enterprise web applications using a large technology stack. Take a look at my LinkedIn profile for my resume.

Why this blog?

This blog will be used as my minddump. Every day I work in the JavaEE domain with a range of technologies, frameworks and related infrastructure. It’s hard to keep track of all research for every problem I encounter and find solutions for, either small or big.

My main domain and likings in Java EE development is web development in all aspects, hence most of this blog will handle common technologies and frameworks like JSP, Servlets, Spring, EJB3, Hibernate, JSF, common libraries; building software like Ant and Maven2; deploying on servers like Tomcat and JBoss. Design patterns and software engineering tactics and coding style won’t be forgotten too.

And last but not least, every interesting fact or event worth mentioning will be blogged about.

Language choice?

My native language is Dutch but I will consider writing most of my articles in English, so I can reach a bigger audience and try help more people. When I write about something that’s already covered on a lot of places, my preference will go to Dutch and I’ll include links to related articles.

Happy reading and I hope some of this stuff will come in use for some of you. Oh, and don’t hesitate to leave a comment!
